LIANE CARROLL
After an amazing summer of gigs from Brecon to Norway, Liane is embarking on a Scottish Tour with Scotland’s finest virtuoso jazz pianist Brian Kellock. Already hailed in the press as “British jazz’s finest ever double act”, the Tour will yield a joint album to be recorded live at The Blue Lamp, Aberdeen and released in 2009 on Splash Point Records, produced by Neal Richardson.
STOP PRESS! Liane is also appearing at Ronnie Scott’s this week (6-8 Oct);
Her vocal trio group “The Passion” finally released their long-awaited album in the summer, with Jacqui Dankworth and Sara Colman.
“Slow Down”, Liane’s current CD launched in September ‘07, is the fastest-selling Liane CD ever released and is already on its 2nd pressing!
In the meantime the gorgeous DVD “Liane Live” (launched Feb 2008) has been very well received worldwide, underlining Liane’s status as “Jazz Musician of the Year 2008″ as voted in the APPJAG Awards.

SUE RICHARDSON
Sue seems to have hit the ground running since returning to gigs post-maternity leave. First there was her standing-room-only gig as part of the Albert Hall’s Ignite series; then playing on Ian Shaw’s version of Humphrey Lyttelton’s “Sad Sweet Song”;
As a result, Sue was invited by Humph’s band to join them for a big Tribute gig in Swansea last Sunday (5/10/08), compered by Radio 4’s Brian Perkins . This was a huge honour for Sue, and the capacity-crowd concert was a delightful, respectful celebration of Humph’s music :-)  Sue has been booked to join the band again at a concert at the Bull’s Head in Barnes (Date TBC).
STOP PRESS!  Sue will be signing copies TODAY 7/10/08 of her groundbreaking album “Emergence” at Ray’s Jazz (Foyles) in London, and playing a short set with her Trio before jetting off to play in Holland, and her Quintet will be playing London’s Spice of Life on 12/11/08.
Having played at last year’s London Jazz Festival, Sue has been booked again for this year’s, appearing at the City Inn on 20/11/08 (John Islip Street, Westminster); She is also one of the stars in the Old New Borrowed Blue show in the Festival.

OLD NEW BORROWED BLUE
Starring Ian Shaw, Sue Richardson, Tammy Weis and Nicola Emmanuelle (all signed to Splash Point Publishing), a brand new Song show written + presented jointly by pianists Neal Richardson and Alex Webb. In conjunction with Serious, the show will be presented at the Floral Hall (Royal Opera House) 16/11/08,  and Blackheath Concert Halls 21/11/08.   Along the lines of Norman Granz’s legendary “Jazz at the Philharmonic” Tours, this is a great chance to see a whole smorgasbord of performers in one place at one time, with the songs forming a narrative along the theme of Old New Borrowed Blue(s)!

IAN SHAW:  “HUMPH” TRIBUTE SINGLE
Yep it’s true, Splash Point Records will release its first download-only single at November’s London Jazz Festival. It’s a beautiful melancholy ballad written by Humph called “Sad Sweet Song”, that the late great man had specifically asked Ian to record… Ian recorded the song at Splash Point studios, and invited Sue Richardson to play trumpet on it in tribute to Humph. As a result it was performed at the BBC Jazz Awards in July, and the recording prompted Humph’s band to invite Sue to gig with them.
The single will be launched at the Old, New, Borrowed, Blue Show and it’ll be available on all providers worldwide (iTunes etc.) from 21st Nov. - please look out for it!  We’re also delighted that Ian is now signed to Splash Point Publishing - listen to his beautiful current album “Lifejacket” on www.IanShaw.biz  The album includes the stunning duet with Liane Carroll “42″ - which we think should be a number 1!

SPLASH POINT PUBLISHING
… celebrates signing its 20th writer!  We are becoming known as the de facto Publisher for the cream of British Jazz writers/performers, including Liane Carroll, Ian Shaw, Sue Richardson, Andy Drudy, John Donaldson, Tammy Weis,  David Hentschel, Clement Regert (album out 13/10/08), Alex Webb, Nicola Emmanuelle, David Preston, David Gordon, Arden Hart, Jamie Salisbury…. ;  PRS, gig and overseas royalties are being successfully chased worldwide, with licensing deals placing music from Japan to Hollywood; and even up in the skies on in-flight entertainment channels!

NEAL RICHARDSON
As well as being the “he to whom the mud sticks” of Splash Point Music Ltd, and being Sue’s pianist, Neal has been doing his usual series of Quartet gigs - not least at this year’s Finals for the Lawn Tennis Association - and played at Westminster for a dinner with speaker Nick Clegg;   Neal presented another month of his weekly jazz radio show “live” on SeahavenFM.com during it’s summer broadcast… among his guests was Radio 3 Jazz Line-up reviewer Phil Jackson;  Neal’s Quartet have been booked to play for HM The Queen in 2010!  You can catch his duo live every Tuesday at Food For Friends in Brighton.  And yes, new addition little Oscar was named after Messrs Peterson, Hammerstein and Wilde :-)
As ever, all our products can be ordered direct from us at www.splashpointrecords.com or your favourite record shop.  Thanks for reading (and listening)…. without you it’d be a bit of a lonely job!

Hope to see you at some of those gigs - come and say “hi”, tell your friends, buy a CD/DVD, bring a pineapple… :-)

Best Regards
